After every ride on your STRØM E-Bike, it's important to bring the battery indoors. Storing the battery in cold or freezing temperatures can cause permanent damage and significantly reduce its performance. During winter, especially, cold weather can cause the internal components of the battery to degrade rapidly. To avoid this, always store your battery inside in a dry, temperature-controlled environment. Keeping your battery indoors ensures it remains in optimal condition and extends its lifespan, so you can enjoy many more rides.

Charge at Room Temperature

Before you begin charging your battery, make sure it’s at room temperature. Charging a cold battery can result in damage to the internal cells, which could eventually destroy the battery. If your battery feels cold after being stored outside or in a garage, allow it to warm up naturally in a warm room before starting the charging process. Charging at room temperature allows the battery to charge more efficiently and ensures that you maintain a good charge cycle, keeping the battery healthy for a longer period.

Avoid Full Discharge

If you don’t plan to use your STRØM E-Bike for an extended period, it’s important to remove the battery and recharge it every three months. Letting the battery discharge completely can lead to deep discharge damage, which can impair battery capacity and longevity. To keep your battery in top condition, recharge it fully when it's not in use, and try not to let it stay empty for too long. By maintaining a healthy charge cycle, your battery will continue to work effectively when you need it.

Protect During Rides

Winter riding can be tough on your battery. Cold temperatures can lower the battery's efficiency, reducing its range and performance. To help protect your battery during rides, consider using a battery cover or neoprene sleeve. These accessories act as insulation, helping to keep the battery within its optimal operating temperature. This protective layer will ensure that your battery performs efficiently in colder weather and retains its full capacity, giving you a better and more reliable riding experience during winter months.

Clean and Maintain

Keeping your STRØM battery clean is essential to its longevity. Regularly inspect your battery for dirt, dust, or any debris, especially around the terminals. Wipe the battery down with a soft, dry cloth to remove any contaminants. It’s also a good idea to check the battery’s terminals to ensure they are corrosion-free and securely connected. Periodically inspect the battery’s casing for any cracks or damage. Taking these maintenance steps will keep your battery in good working condition, ensuring it stays reliable throughout the winter and beyond.
